In reality, the building of Auto Cluster Development and Analysis Institute Limited (ACDRIL) might be the first ‘green building’ in Pune. The construction of this developing is in process and will be completed by the end of 2008. Sources say that auto cluster developing will use sunlight for most day lighting. Also, architectural features like natural ventilation will be considered although completing the construction.
The Pune Real Estate Builders assert that they want to minimise the usage of electricity to a minimum for lighting and air-conditioning. The promoters of ACDRIL are attempting to get the green certification from the US Green Building Council.
This developing is being promoted jointly by the Mahrashtra Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture (MCCIA) and the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC). This will involve an investment of Rs 118 crore.
